Craig Vandervoort has been involved with oil & gas leasing and pipeline right of ways throughout his career. In 1994 Craig was asked by the Ohio Farm Bureau to be a commenter on its project to develop the Farm Bureau Oil and Gas lease. Craig has successfully counseled landowner groups exceeding 800 acres in negotiating common leases for exploration and production. Craig has assisted landowners in negotiating and improving terms and compensations for the installation of gas pipelines in all three of the most recent major pipelines installed in Ohio, beginning with the 1999 Marathon Ashland’s Ohio 130-mile pipeline from Kenova, West Virginia to Columbus, Ohio; the 2007 Rockies Express 1,679-mile Pipeline from the Rocky Mountains to Clarington in Monroe County, Ohio; and the 2011 ATEX Express 1,230-mile from the Marcellus-Utica Shale region of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to the Texas Gulf Coast. During the easement acquisition phase of the ATEX Express Pipeline, Craig and his co-counsel represented landowners in negotiating over 12 total miles of pipeline. Craig was a co-presenter at the Second Annual Ohio Oil and Gas Law Symposium May 25, 2012 Longaberger Golf Club, Nashport Ohio on the topic of Negotiating Pipeline Easements and Managing the Threat of Eminent Domain.
